The island of Hispaniola is divided in two different countries: the Republic of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Different countries, but not distant. Similar and far away. Both share origins, stories and tragedies. Both are dangerously sustained by a weak, deficient, mutilated, corrupt or incomplete states and institutions.
The art project presents a human structure created with two elements, two individuals, putting together a single form. A blind person of Dominican origin will carry on his shoulders a disabled person of Haitian origin.
